Lemesos2030 Network
What is the Lemesos 2030 Network?
It is an imaginary web consisting of people, groups, and organisations in tune with Lemesos 2030's objectives, who will embrace its vision, (co-)organise events or host Lemesos 2030 in other independent initiatives, thus actively contributing to the European Capital of Culture 2030 bidding process.
Steadily heading towards claiming the European Capital of Culture title in 2030, Lemesos has started weaving its own Network, launching an open call to organisations, volunteers, sponsors, and citizens who wish to embrace its vision.
Main objectives
The Network aims, among other, at:
- Empowering Limassol’s ecosystem and communities through Culture and the Arts;
- Showcasing the Limassolian spirit, identity and heritage;
- Decentralising artistic and cultural events, reaching every corner of the city and beyond;
- Supporting and empowering the local artistic and cultural community;
- Encouraging interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral collaborations;
- Ensuring everyone’s accessibility and inclusion by creating safe spaces, particularly for vulnerable and underrepresented communities;
- Exercising care, empathy, and acceptance practices;
- Using participatory processes and outreach methods to engage diverse audiences;
- Incorporating and strengthening the European dimension on a cultural, social, and individual level;
- Making art a daily habit and enriching Lemesos' cultural landscape.
- Contributing to Lemesos' journey to become European Capital of Culture in 2030.
To whom is it addressed?
Lemesos 2030 calls upon all individuals who embrace its vision to claim a more human-centred, participatory, and inclusive city. An open digital database has been made available by Lemesos 2030, which invites the public to download open-use material, such as posters and digital badges, thus encouraging Limassolians to enhance the visibility and dissemination of the bidding process.
At the same time, the Organisation has launched a call to citizens who wish to join the Network, by becoming volunteers, sponsors, providers, or events co-organisers. Interested parties are encouraged to fill in a relevant form and express their interest:
